Morning all, so my computer died this week – just died...dead... lost tonnes of contacts, emails, docs which has been great fun (sigh). Anywho, here’s this weeks update:

Big thing this week: Possible temporary school expansion
So LCC will be deciding next week on Tuesday if Trinity can have a second temporary Reception class created for this year’s intake. If granted it’ll mean that pupils who applied for and were turned down this year may have another chance to attend Trinity - if the temporary expansion is granted LCC admissions team will contact families affected based on application forms received earlier in the year. A temporary building would be installed at Trinity Buckshaw to house the second class of 30 reception pupils. What this really means is that if the class gets filled then LCC would consider expanding the rest of the school permanently as this demonstrates the need for the school to be dual entry. More info here: http://www.buckshaw.org/news/trinity...ary-expansion-. I’ll update following the decision on Tues.

Other things:

Green Man Dig – If any Committee members can come with spades/forks/strong back’s on Saturday (12th May) from 12.30pm that would be great. Looking forward to making this very visable change to the village entrance :0)

Agenda for BVCA/RMG meeting 17th May – I’ll putting together the agenda early next week to cover Community Centre Management Group Meeting and Village Issues Meeting. If you have anything you’d like raising please let me know asap. Previous minutes are here: http://www.buckshaw.org/MeetingMinutes

Chorley BC changes – Most of you are now aware that there has been a change in leadership at Chorley BC following May’s elections and now Labour are in charge of Chorley council. This means a change in personnel at most levels so when the dust has settled Becca & I will contact the new leader (as well as other cabinet members) and will introduce ourselves and hopefully pick up where we left off with Chorley BC :0)

Choir for xmas event – Rawsthorne Singers a local 4 part harmony chamber choir (advertising on the noticeboards in the new not-for-profit spaces) have come forward to lead the carols at this years Christmas event – yay! They’ll join Buckshaw Youth Band who will also be playing that night to entertain all the residents who come to take part in the games, visit Santa and get some yummy grub – oh and watch the lights be switched on ;0) . Thinking festive Christmas thoughts in May – love it :0)

Fishers Mobile farm for Jubilee event – Becca and I have booked the petting zoo for Jubilee event, it’ll be such a good part of the day that it is too good to miss! If we get the funding from South Ribble BC then the price is covered, if we don’t then we may have to charge/request donations on the day or fund it from BVCA coiffeurs. So that’s a whole range of animals including horses/donkeys/pygmy goats/rabbits/hens and chicks for 4 hours for £240! Great stuff – their newsletter is attached with pics of what to expect :0)

Comm. Garden plans – Jim has put together a first draft plan of the garden nearest the door at the community centre, which is looking good. Community Garden team will be planning our next move after we’ve done Saturday’s dig

Buckshaw Clean Up – Given the political change at Chorley BC, they’re waiting for the new Councillor to be appointed who will make the final decision if Buckshaw will be chosen as one of the focus areas so that funds/resources can be assigned to clean up Buckshaw. If/when that happens, BVCA will chat to Chorley BC and also South Ribble BC about making sure this applies to the whole of the village and not just the Chorley third. Watch this space.

Things coming up this week:
•	12th May, 12.30pm – Green Man Dig
•	17th May, 7.30pm, Community Centre – RMG/BVCA/Envirocare meeting

Have a great week guys – see y’all soon – K

Just a quick update from SJL Heating & Plumbing, as my past thread reads "winter is coming!!"
Once again I must start by thanking everyone who continues to support us on Buckshaw Village, and then introduce ourselves to new residents of our village!!
Those who have moved in recently, your boiler generally comes with a 2 year warranty (would be interested to know if your builder has offered you less or more than this!).. and this warranty is on the condition that your boiler is serviced annually. We do this servicing at a discounted rate for Buckshaw Village residents, along with all boiler repairs, and landlord gas safety inspections for landlords. We are also here to help you with any plumbing queries you may have, everything from a faulty tap, loo that won't stop running (lots of those on Buckshaw..especially it seems, the Barratt houses!), or outside tap installation.
A number of residents have had problems recently with their boilers, and here at SJL we aim to keep our neighbours on Buckshaw our top priority!!
We are genuinely just at the end of a phone if you need any help; we have often managed to talk through a simple problem or just given a little advice!

Thanks once again

Okay, moving some of the pillars in Main Square to increase parking is a good move.

Filling the holes where the pillars used to be with luminous yellow cement is moronic. How on earth is that meant to blend in with black and grey cobbles?

If the developers would just do things right the first time it would look better and would cost less. Even using grey cement would have looked better than the current eye sore.

He wasn't wearing a collar but does have a chip. He's very friendly, with blue eyes, a sandy body and darker grey head. Thanks very much and apologies to anyone we've bothered walking around shouting 'ge-orge' over the weekend ;-)

It was going to be great, but again the weather is against us. The ground is already very soggy and there's lots more rain on the way this week, so we've had to cut our losses and right it off. It's a big shame as lots of people were looking forward to it and it would have raised much needed cash for the Park.
But onwards and upwards - Beer Festival 15 - 17 June!
